Looking For Cheap Wireless Broadband?
Then keep reading our reviews of the cheapest wireless broadband plans and deals!
Let’s look at the cheapest deals from the big wireless broadband providers like Telstra, Optus, 3 and Vodafone. How do some of the smaller players like Virgin and Dodo stack up? All of these companies are advertising that they have the best wireless broadband deals. So here’s a summary of the cheapest deals available right now. And when I talk about cheap I don’t mean cheap and nasty. I mean great value.

3 (Three): In terms of a low price and decent amount of data allowance, 3 takes the cake. The entry level 3 Mobile Broadband plan is only $15 per month for 1GB of data! This is a fantastic plan that is great if you don’t have a fortune to spend on wireless broadband, but really want to get it. If you are a 3 Mobile customer, then you get a bundle discount that your USB modem is free too! (If you aren’t a 3 Mobile customer yet, check out their mobile phone website for their latest phones and plans). If you don’t have a 3 mobile, then the USB modem is $5 per month. The only real downside to 3 is that their 3G coverage is in Sydney, Melbourne, Geelong, Brisbane, Gold Coast, Adelaide and Perth. So if you don’t live in one of those places then it’s probably not the best for you. Visit the 3 website at www.Three.com.au

Vodafone: Since the competition in the wireless broadband market starting heating up about 18 months ago, Vodafone has been super competitive. They were the pioneers of the 5GB for $39 wireless offer, which brought down wireless broadband prices significantly in the Australian market. Vodafone’s current cheapest deal is $19.95 per month for 1GB and also currently includes a free USB modem. Vodafone has also introduced some 12 month plans, some of which include a free USB modem! Dodo: For the absolute budget deals to get Wireless Broadband, Dodo leads the way. Their entry level price is only $4.99 per month if you are an existing Dodo customer and $9.99 per month for new customers. It is definitely the cheapest wireless broadband deal, but you only get 100MB of data on this plan. 100MB will be fine for very low users, but for most people they will need a lot more data. The next step up is $12.99 bundled and $17.99 unbundled for 1GB of data. Great plans, but you do need to buy your USB modem outright for $149. Dodo has some very cheap deals, you just need to make sure they suit your usage. Click through to the the Dodo Wireless Website for more information.

Optus: Whilst not the cheapest, Optus are definitely cheaper than Telstra. If you bundle your wireless internet with another Optus service, then you can get 2GB per month for only $29.95. If you aren’t bundling, then 2GB will cost $39.95 per month. The bundle deal is ok, but $39 for 2GB without a bundle isn’t competitive in the current market. 3, Vodafone and Virgin all blow that out of the water. 2GB is a lot of data, but isn’t a great option as your lowest plan as many people just don’t need that much with a wireless service. Telstra Bigpond: Telstra’s cheapest wireless plan is $29.95 per month for 200MB of data. You also have to pay $299 upfront for your wireless broadband modem unless you want to go on a 3 year contract. Telstra has some great coverage advantages, but when it comes to price they aren’t even close. I gag trying to say “cheap” and “Telstra” in the same sentence.
